“Art is infinite as we can either transform, reinvent or grow through it.”
Marisela Valdivia, is a multidisciplinary Peruvian artist who began in a self-taught way in painting and photography more than 20 years ago.
A lover of nature and animals, she graduated in Animal Farming from La Molina National Agrarian University (Lima, 1997) and later completed her studies, obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ricardo Palma University (Lima, 2003). These careers allowed her to travel and get to know the different realities of her country.
During the years she lived in Bogotá, Colombia (2009 - 2013) she studied painting, drawing, photography and sculpture at the Fabula School of Arts. Subsequently, upon her return to Lima, she has taken photography and photographic direction courses in person and during the 2020 quarantine she has taken virtual courses in different parts of the world.
Although her main activity is photography, she started doing analog collage projects in late 2020 as introspection art therapy; finding in them a way for self-analysis and personal questioning.
He has participated in different national and international exhibitions; of which their participation in the Miami art week (Art Basel 2022 and 2023) stands out with the Miami Prints project (En Tránsito Gallery - Chile); the collage exhibitions in Bari, Italy, managed by the Italian Collage Collective in the years 2023 and 2021; and the National Collage Art Exhibition, Peru 2022; where she was invited to write the curatorial text.
